Description: This beginning course in Arabic emphasizes the development of listening, speaking, reading, and writing language skills; mastering the sound and writing systems of Arabic; understanding and using formulaic and functional phrases; using numbers; and mastering some basic morphological and syntactic features of the language.

Description: This course allows students to further develop language skills in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing Arabic. Students will learn past and future tenses and how to express negation, expand vocabulary relating to people, places, objects, and professions; and learn to keep a written journal in Arabic. The emphasis is on communicating effectively in Arabic.
