Description: This beginning course in Cantonese Chinese emphasizes pronunciation drill, sentence pattern analysis, and the development of language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Fundamentals of character reading and writing will be introduced. The course also provides an introduction to the culture of Cantonese speaking regions of the world.

Description: This course is the continuation of CANT 401. Further acquisition of language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing will be emphasized. Basic character reading and writing will be introduced. Students will gain proficiency in understanding and speaking Cantonese in everyday situations.
