You're Almost There!
Our records indicate that as of the end of last semester you have successfully completed more than 67.5 units within the Los Rios Community College District. Congratulations on nearing your educational goal, whether it is obtaining a two-year degree or certificate or transfer to a four-year institution! You should be proud - as we are - of the courses that you have completed and all the academic progress that you have made so far. You are receiving this letter to notify you that new state regulations have been developed to encourage you and all Los Rios students to reach their educational goals in a timely fashion. Under the new regulations:
- Students with fewer than 90 units will continue to be eligible for priority registration, ensuring that they have the best access to the courses they need to complete their community college education.
- However, every student who has completed 90 or more Los Rios degree-applicable units will no longer be eligible for priority registration. The new state regulations require us to notify you when you have hit the 90-unit limit. You are not yet at that 90-unit limit, but you are nearing it. This letter is intended to ensure that you are aware of this threshold and encourage you to take advantage of every opportunity to meet your goal. Students who go over 90 units must register in the open enrollment period, when access to course sections is considerably more limited.
Your college has resources available to help you reach your educational goals in as short a time as possible. We encourage you to contact your college's Counseling and/or Admissions and Records offices today for their assistance and guidance: http://www.losrios.edu/cgi-bin/lrc_cmnt.cgi
Once again congratulations on your hard work so far, good luck on your continued studies and we look forward to seeing you soon at graduation!
