1.0 Holidays (Education Code §§ 79020, 88203 and 88205.5)
1.1 The following legal holidays will be observed:
Independence Day
Labor Day
Admission Day (or an in-lieu day, should classes be held on Admission Day)
Veterans' Day
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Day
New Year's Day
Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday, third Monday in January
Lincoln's Birthday
Washington's Birthday (3rd Monday in February)
Memorial Day1.2 The following Board granted holidays will be observed: The Friday after Thanksgiving; in addition to Christmas Day and New Year's Day, one-half the working days falling within the winter recess period; and the Friday before Easter. (Education Code § 79022)
2.0 Eligibility for Holiday Pay (Education Code § 88203)
2.1 For payroll purposes, confidential employees receive holiday pay for holidays that fall within their normal work year, provided the employees are in pay status for the working day before or after the holiday.
