1.0 Establishing Catalog Rights

1.1 For purposes of graduation from any of the colleges of the District, students remaining in attendance in one (1) session (quarter, semester, or summer session) at any California community college, or any combination of California community colleges, campuses of the California State University, the University of California, or any regionally accredited institution of higher education, shall elect to meet the requirements in effect at the Los Rios college from which the student intends to graduate as follows:

1.1.1 requirements in effect at the time of admission to a Los Rios college; or

1.1.2 requirements in effect at the time the student originally enrolled in an accredited college or university (see District Policy and Regulations P-2216 and R-2216); or

1.1.3 requirements for the major in a more recent catalog year may be substituted for the requirements in the catalog at the same time of admission; or

1.1.4 requirements in effect at the intended date of graduation from a Los Rios college.

1.2 A college may authorize or request substitution for discontinued courses.

1.3 Students changing their major field of study may be required to complete those requirements for the major in effect at the point of change.

1.4 For purposes of this section, "attendance" means attendance in at least one session (i.e., quarter, semester or summer session) in each calendar year. Absence for attendance at another accredited institution shall not be considered an interruption in attendance.
