1.0 General Statement
1.1 Articulation is the process of faculty review and evaluation used to determine in what manner course work completed at one institution will meet requirements for admissions, transfer credit, general education or major preparation at another institution.
1.2 The intent of this Los Rios Community College District Policy and the accompanying Administrative Regulations is to ease the process of moving students from high school to the District Colleges and from the District Colleges to four year institutions. The district shall endeavor to eliminate barriers and simplify the process wherever possible.
1.3 Appropriate college content area faculty at each College shall have the primary responsibility for facilitating the development of articulation agreements with their feeder high schools. Articulation Officers at each College shall have primary responsibility for facilitating the development and maintenance of high school articulation agreements.
1.4 Articulation Officers at each College shall have the primary responsibility for facilitating the development and maintenance of articulation agreements with four year institutions of higher education.
1.5 Courses and programs, as deemed appropriate at each college, shall be articulated with proximate high schools.
1.6 The Chancellor shall adopt regulations to provide for implementation of this policy.
1.7 Students may receive college credit for articulated high school courses.
