1.0 Authorization to Reclassify
1.1 The Board of Trustees may, upon the recommendation of the Chancellor/Superintendent or designee, reclassify a position to a more appropriate class. Reclassification of a position will be the result of a study which shows that the responsibility level and/or job duties of a particular position have changed sufficiently to justify reassignment of the position to another position class.
1.2 Upon the recommendation of the Chancellor/Superintendent or designee, the Governing Board may reclassify position classes and individual positions. Reclassification normally becomes effective July 1 of a given year, although a different effective date may be used at the recommendation of the Chancellor/Superintendent or designee. Position classes and individual positions will be allocated to the appropriate salary ranges approved by the Governing Board.
