1.0 Participation in Retirement System

1.1 All regular full-time academic employees shall be required to participate in the State Teachers' Retirement System (STRS) except that new employees who are already members of the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) may choose between continuing with PERS or joining STRS. (E.C. 22608)

2.0 Pre-Retirement Program

2.1 Full-Time academic employees approaching retirement may apply for partial employment for up to five (5) years immediately preceding final retirement. In order to participate in this program, academic employees must meet predetermined requirements (E. C. 87483 ).
