1.0 Authority

1.1 The Board of Trustees derives its authority from the Education Code of the State of California. The Board is subject to provisions of the Constitution of the State of California and the laws of the State of California. (Education Code § 70902)

1.2 Board members have authority only when acting as a Board of Trustees legally in session. The Board shall not be bound in any way by any statement or action on the part of any individual Board member or employee, except when such statement or action is pursuant to specific instructions by the Board of Trustees.
