Description: This introductory course is designed for aviation career professionals such as pilots, air traffic controllers, aircraft dispatchers, and aircraft technicians. This course will explore the fundamentals of aircraft and spacecraft flight as well as the history and development of the aviation industry. An on-site visit to a local airport is recommended for completion of this course.

Description: This aviation related meteorology course is designed for pilots, air traffic controllers, and aircraft dispatchers. It covers basic weather phenomena, hazards, and prognostics as they apply to flight. Use and interpretation of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and National Weather Service (NWS) meteorological services are also explained.

Description: This course is an in-depth study of the Code of Federal Regulations 14, Parts 1, 43, 61, 65, 71, 73, 91, 121, and 135 of the Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) Orders, Letters of Agreement, Standard Operating Procedures, Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM), and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) 830 for reporting aircraft accidents.

Description: This course is designed to teach the aeronautics student the basics of navigation, airspace, and communication under Visual Flight Rules (VFR). The fundamentals of pilotage, dead reckoning, and radio navigation will be applied to flight planning. Requirements for airspace and air traffic controller communication will be covered.

It provides the necessary information that will enable the student to be eligible to take the Private Pilot, Sport Pilot, and basic Certificated Ground School Instructor knowledge exam.

Remote Pilot Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems

Advisory: Per the licensing requirements of 14 CFR Part 107.61, students must be at least 16 years of age; be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language; have no final convictions for the violation of any Federal or State statute relating to the growing, processing, manufacture, sale, disposition, possession, transportation, or importation of narcotic drugs, marijuana, or depressant or stimulant drugs or substances within one year; not have refused to submit to a test to indicate the percentage by weight of alcohol in the blood, when requested by a law enforcement officer, or refused to furnish or authorize the release of the test results requested by the Federal Aviation Administration within one year. A background security check by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will be conducted before issuance of a Remote Pilot - sUAS certificate.
Description: This course will be of interest to anyone who wishes to pursue employment or develop new businesses based on remotely piloted aircraft, as well as people interested in utilizing these aircraft in existing commercial or public safety operations. The course will cover the principles of flight, weather effects and sources of weather information, the construction of the U.S. National Airspace System and rules for operating within it, physiological and cognitive human factors impacting drone flight, and current U.S. and California regulations and laws governing drone flight operations. It provides students with the necessary information to take the Federal Aviation Administration's Remote Pilot - Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems aeronautical knowledge exam required for issuance of a Remote Pilot - sUAS certificate.
