TAP 320    Classical Rehearsal and Performance I    1-3 Units

Classical Performance and Technical Production
Prerequisite: None.
Enrollment Limitation: Students must audition and/or interview with the director to participate in this course.
Course Transferable to UC/CSU
Hours: 162 hours LAB
Description: This course is the first level of four courses in the rehearsal and performance of a classical theatre production. It provides workshop training for students performing in their first classical theatre production. Students audition or interview with the director for participation in a classical drama or comedy. Field trips may be required.

This variable unit class is for prospective actors and requires an audition prior to enrollment. Students may sign up for 0.5, 1.0, or 3.0 units. Please contact the instructor. The Falcon's Eye opens its eighth season with Naomi Iizuka's Anonymous. Separated from his mother, a young refugee named Anon journeys through the United States, encountering a wide variety of people - some kind, some dangerous and cruel - as he searches for his family. From a sinister one-eyed butcher to beguiling barflies to a sweatshop, Anon must navigate through a chaotic, ever-changing landscape in this entrancing adaptation of Homer's The Odyssey.


Audition Dates: September 15, 2014, 6:30 pm, PAC-1170 Drama Lab.



Rehearsal Dates: September 22 through November 6, 2014. Rehearsal times might include weekdays, weeknights, and/or weekends.



Performance Dates: November 7 through November 23. Performance calendar will include weekend days and nights.



This class has 2.2 - 13 hours TBA per week, depending upon the number of units taken. All TBA hours will be held in room PAC 1170.

TAP 330    Classical Technical Production I    1-3 Units

Classical Performance and Technical Production
Prerequisite: None.
Enrollment Limitation: Students must interview with the technical director to participate in this course. Interviews should be scheduled during the first two weeks of the semester.
Course Transferable to CSU
Hours: 162 hours LAB
Description: This course is the first level of four courses which provide a workshop training experience for students working in their first position on the production crew of a classical theatre production. Students interested in technical work interview for positions in stage management, crewing, set construction, costumes and makeup, lighting and sound, box office and publicity. Students will gain practical experience in applying production responsibilities in any of the following: stage management, house management, construction, scenery, scenic painting, properties, costume, lighting, sound, video/projections, and running crews.
