ESL 34    Novice-High Skills Lab    .5-1.5 Units

Prerequisite: ESLL 20, ESLR 20, or ESLW 20 with a grade of "C" or better; or placement through the assessment process.
Hours: 81 hours LAB
Description: This course develops, expands, and reinforces multiple English language skills at the novice-high level in an independent and/or small group environment. Coursework includes integrated study topics relative to vocabulary and study skills, reading and grammar use, idiomatic language study and application, conversation and listening skills, and assorted integrated software programs. Late registration is allowed as long as space is available and with the permission of the instructor. This course may be taken up to 3 times, for a total of 1.5 units, using different modules. This course is not a substitute for other ESL courses. Pass/No Pass only.

Students, please note that the ESL Center program in only four weeks long. You may register for .5 or 1 unit for the summer. The above classes meet in the ESL Center in the Learning Resource Center. Students may enroll in any open section of ESL 34 that does not conflict with their other scheduled courses. Late registration is allowed through June 11, 2015 as long as space is available and with permission of the Center coordinator. Hours of attendance can be flexible, and students may attend during any open hours. The ESL Center is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 2:10 p.m. and closed on July 4, 2015.
