This section of SPEECH 301 is being offered in conjunction with the Umoja-Sakhu Learning Community which includes all of the following courses: ENGWR 300 (MW 10:30-11:50am), ENGWR 362 (W 12:00-12:50pm), HCD 330 (M 12:00-1:05pm) and SPEECH 301 (MW 1:30-2:50pm). Courses are linked using INDIS 1000 (8 units) and open to all students eligible to enroll in ENGWR 300. Eligible students interested in enrolling must attend the informational meeting scheduled for January 10, 2017 from 12:00-2:00pm in Community Rooms 1 and 2 to receive a permission number. SPEECH 495    Independent Studies in Speech    1-3 Units

Prerequisite: None.

Hours: 162 hours LAB
Description: Independent Study is an opportunity for the student to extend classroom experience in this subject, while working independently of a formal classroom situation. Independent study is an extension of work offered in a specific class in the college catalog. To be eligible for independent study, students must have completed the basic regular catalog course at American River College. They must also discuss the study with a professor in this subject and secure approval. Only one independent study for each catalog course will be allowed.
