Description: This course is offered in coordination with the Beacon Tutoring Program at American River College. It introduces the role of the tutor as a facilitator and presents the methods of effective group tutoring. This course emphasizes collaborative and interactive approaches to learning in a group setting.

Description: This course offers the opportunity to integrate the usage of software, hardware, and Internet tools and their related pedagogies into online teaching. The course will require specific hands-on activities and development of materials using technologies featured within the course. This course will provide a brief overview of how to teach a course online. The course will show how to facilitate a class discussion online, how to create quizzes online, and how to send and receive assignments online.

The First Year Experience Program (FYE) is a structured academic program designed to increase the likelihood of college success. ENGWR 300 (MW 10:30 - 11:50 AM) is taught in combination with ENGWR 306 (W 12:00-12:50 PM). The Umoja-Sakhu Learning Community is designed to enhance the cultural and educational experiences of African American and other students. This class is the second semester of the cohort. Students enroll in the courses using the one class number listed for the Learning Community, 19869; and receive credit and a grade for each individual course listed in the Learning Community. Students interested in enrolling in the second semester of the Umoja-Sakhu Learning Community are required to complete the first semester of the program.
