Fall Drama: THE SEAGULL
Written by Anton Chekhov
In a new version by Christopher Hampton
Directed by Janis Stevens
THE SEAGULL by Anton Chekhov created a "revolution" in modern theatre in 1898 when he didn't try to explain life, but to put it down as he saw it truthfully. Chekhov hoped to evoke the mood of life, rather like the Impressionists sought to offer the feeling of a place. This production seeks to offer an impressionistic feel of turn-of-the-century Russia and the comedic poignancy of the characters brought to life in this extraordinary play.
Audition Dates: Sunday, Aug. 27 & Monday, Aug. 28 from 7-10pm in Stage 2. Callbacks on Tuesday, Aug. 29 from 7-10pm. First meeting Wednesday, Aug. 30 from 7-10pm.
Rehearsal Dates: Monday-Friday, Oct. 2 - Nov. 16
