Chancellor's Updates

08/23/2016 - We are off and running on the new 2016-17 school year! This week, we are welcoming more than 75,000 students to classrooms, lecture halls and labs on our four college campuses and six educational centers. I see and feel the high levels of energy and excitement across the District, and it makes me proud – and I know it makes you proud – to be part of our Los Rios community... learn more

07/15/2016 - As we turn our focus to the year ahead, I have an important update on the District’s enrollment for the 2015-16 year that just ended as well as the enrollment challenges we face going forward in 2016-17. 01/23/2015 - The week since our spring 2015 convocation has flown by. We welcomed nearly 75,000 students to our classrooms and labs across the District. 01/12/2015 - This past Friday was quite a remarkable day for the Los Rios District and the students we serve. First we learned that President Obama wants to make two years of community college education free for all students. Hours later, we learned that Gov. Brown’s budget proposal for 2015-16 would be one of the most generous for community colleges in recent years... learn more

09/24/2014 - By now, most of you have read, seen or heard about the Boles fire that has burned up much of the small northern California community of Weed, and the King fire that has torn through El Dorado and Placer counties... learn more

08/25/2014 - Our students are back, and the fall semester is underway. I know what a busy time this is for everyone, and appreciate all your hard work serving our more than 77,000 students this fall. Between now and the end of the year, there will be so many moments when your acts of support and encouragement will help keep our students on a successful path to completion and graduation... learn more

02/18/2014 - It is with great sadness I share with you the passing of longtime Los Rios Trustee Terry Cochran. Mr. Cochran passed away this past Friday, February 14, from complications of sinus cancer. He was elected to the Los Rios Board of Trustees in 1996 and was serving his fifth term at the time of his death... learn more

02/04/2014 - It‘s hard to believe that on February 1st I began serving my second year as your Chancellor. My first year flew by, and I want to thank you all for making me feel so welcome... learn more
